For me personally, humans aren't gonna become extinct anytime soon...so I choose to help other charities that focus on saving wildlife and protecting the environment.
One such charity is World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), formally known as World Wildlife Fund. The name change is due to their expanded operations which now not only seek to protect wildlife, but also the environment we live in.
They accept both 1 time donations as well as monthly/annual auto-deductions via credit card, starting from just US$3/month or US$250/year.
Another reason why I focus more on environmental charities? No environment, No people.
So, if you're like me, passionate about the environment yet do not currently wield enough influence and power to contribute substantially, I would encourage you to start small and donate a small monthly amount.
